My Dad has always created a little forest of starter vegetable plants in the spring so that when the ground is warm enough, we are ready to get a head start on the growing season. We review last year’s starter plant order as we go through the varieties of seeds available. Dad likes to try a few new things every year. I have basil, parsley, tomatoes, eggplant, brussel sprouts, broccoli and many varieties of peppers. If you come to my house, the peppers will greet you!
As I sat down to create his Father’s Day card, I thought that using the stamp set Gift from the Garden (item number 139356) would celebrate his efforts providing us (2 of my 3 sisters also plant gardens) with plants that allow us to eat right from the vines!
Here is the card I created with a basil plant brisking growing on my deck for easy snipping:
The patterned paper is from the new Serene Scenery designer series paper stack (item number 141642). Cardstock and ink are garden green. Old Olive baker’s twine adds visual interest. The new Sparkle embossing folder is peeking from behind the dsp. All products are available at my online store here.
Thanks Dad for taking the time to care for a crop of starter plants! Mine are growing well with rain barrel water and the hot temperatures. I’ll have tomatoes early this year!
