Fun Fridays includes a Paper Pumpkin Night Out!

Lisa J. and I have a fun end to our Friday today. She is hosting a Paper Pumpkin Night Out! She won the party at the WAGS fundraiser where I donated a stack of hand stamped greeting cards and the PPNO. She said she split her raffle tickets between the prizes and won mine! WAGS stands for Wisconsin Academy of Graduate Service Dogs. Lisa has a WAGS dog named Haley that helps Lisa throughout her day. Find information about WAGS through this link.

We will be creating with the Sara Thing kit tonight. This kit was designed by our CEO and daughter of our co-founder in celebration of 4 years of Paper Pumpkin kits. The stamp set for this kit is written in Sara’s writing! A fun touch and a set I will treasure in my stash.

Here’s Sara…

Would you like to help Lisa out by placing an online order? Simply use host code WJT7PCJY at my online store by clicking this link.  A three month Paper Pumpkin subscription is only $59 plus tax and your snail mail box will be happy! Scroll to Paper Pumpkin at my online store for other subscription options and past kits that are for sale. After purchasing your subscription, follow the link in the confirmation email to get your account set up so Paper Pumpkin knows where to ship your boxes!

I’ll try to remember to take photos from the party tonight and share them here. Lisa and I discussed getting photos the last time we stamped together but we get busy stamping and then forget! I wonder if I arrive with a post it note on my forehead with “TAKE PHOTOS!!!” that we will remember to snap a few. Stay tuned to find out!

Have a Fun Friday!

4-H Cards for a Cause

My niece Stephanie is going on a service learning trip to Alaska with 4-H friends this summer. She needs to raise $900 for travel expenses so leading a Cards for a Cause was something I could do to help her.

Each guest created 3 greeting cards featuring Sale-a-bration products. The taco truck card was one of the designs featuring the Tasty Trucks. The other cards used the Hey, Chick stamp set and Sale-a-bration Pretty Pocket Card Kit.

I can tell that this is my card sample in the photo below because the taco is topping side down! I did not notice I stamped them that way until someone pointed it. The reason I stamped them that way came to me later. I worked in the More 4 deli in River Falls during college and we fried taco shells for Taco Tuesday each week. They dried upside down over night. So after 4 years of frying, this is how my mind thinks tacos should look. haha!

There was one set of Cards to Go to assemble so Stephanie and Lindsey worked on that while we cleaned up. Lindsey is watercoloring the chicken from the Hey, Chick stamp set.

The rest of the crew was my sister Wendy, Stephanie’s Mom, cleaning up the card station and my Mom cleaning up the refreshments in the back. Of course Stephanie was there too! She took the photos. We did not get a group photo so we will have to settle for the stealth mode photos.

We raised $240 towards Stephanie’s goal of $900.

Lima Lads and Lassies 4-H fundraiser

We had an intense last week of preparing for the Lima Lads and Lassies 4-H fundraiser. My sister Wendy is the leader and her daughter (my niece) Stephanie is a member of this group.

Cookie baking and packaging were the top priority! A baker’s dozen of families contributed cookies so we had about 150 dozen cookies to package. All trays were assorted except for the rosettes which were packaged in tins due to their delicate nature. Special orders were filled too for those that wanted to pick their varieties. Cookie sales benefit the entire group.

Two members of the group are going on 4-H trips so Stephanie and Lauren had crafts for sale as well to raise funds for their trips. I filmed a few Facebook live videos which are posted to my business facebook page so watch those to get the scoop. Search for Super Awesome Stamper Shirley Merker to find my business facebook page.

Sales were steady for cookies and many crafts found new homes too at the Ho Ho Ho Durand Expo was yesterday. We were thwarted by snowy and slick conditions so not as many shoppers ventured out. Both girls still have crafts for sale so contact me if you are interested in anything you see on the videos. Cookies in mugs are still available too or by the ice cream pail full.

Our booth – The candy cane, purple and gold ball and blue ball and garland trees are for sale too. $25 each tree or decorated window frame. Mix and match pricing, 2 for $45.

Stampin’ Up! made the price tags possible. I share in the cookie packaging video the stamping station. Glorious green which is retired color is the perfect match to stamp the 4-H shamrock on the price tags. Stephanie had an impressive stack of tags stamped and ready!

Thanks to all that baked, packaged, transported, set up and tore down the booth and made purchases during the sale! We appreciate all the efforts to make the fundraiser a success which helps the 4-H members uphold their 4-H pledge.

#GivingTuesday for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Madison

Stampin’ Up! is a national sponsor of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Madison. My Super Awesome Stampers team and friends have been actively supporting the house through Cards for a Cause events, an evening meal in August and assembling cards to go kits that are included in welcome bags.

Paper Pumpkin is an easy addition to the welcome bags which house guests receive upon check in. Paper Pumpkin is a complete paper crafting kit offering a diversion for families while their children receive treatment at near by hospitals. It is compact, portable and contains an instructional flyer. Stampin’ Up! does the prep work by cutting and scoring cardstock, diecutting shapes and including adhesive too. For $20 plus tax to the shipping address, it is a great kit for kids and adults alike!

Would you like to donate a Paper Pumpkin box this Giving Tuesday to RMHC of Madison? Go to my online store here and purchase a prepaid Paper Pumpkin subscription using hostess code JPD94W9. Only subscriptions purchased with this hostess code will be delivered to RMHC of Madison.

I’ll include a clear block to mount the stamps on if needed for every PP purchased using this hostess code. To redeem your subscription, contact me for the shipping address prior to following the directions included in your order confirmation email to redeem your promo code. Boxes will be delivered to me so I can add the clear block. I will then deliver the stack to RMHC of Madison.

Thanks for taking part in Giving Tuesday!

Card Kits to Go for Ronald McDonald House of Madison

Lori, a fellow Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator, and I met at the RMHC to assemble card making kits that the families can take with them to the hospital or back home with them.

This was our assembly line:

If you would like to help with donations, our greatest need are envelopes, glue sticks and wood mounted stamps. Smaller, kid friendly images are best. If you have older stamps that you will not be using and would like to donate them, we will take them. If you would like to help with the next box assembly event, contact me for details.

Thanks for helping with your favorite charity whether it is RMHC or a different one!
