One of a Kind Virtual Facebook Event Recap

Thanks to Brian and Carol from the One of a Kind Stamp and Scrap Expo for hosting their first virtual event today on Facebook. It was fun to be a presenter and share my One Sheet Wonder Create Along with Me. Here is what I created during the session…

That’s 9 cards from one sheet of Peaceful Poppies designer series paper!

Here is the scrap map for cutting the dsp. Follow the circled numbers to make the cuts at the designated inch mark.

I’ll also shared a scrapbook layout using a second, magnificently printed paper with 2 rows of poppies that can be cut in half.

The scrapbook layouts did not use a full sheet of dsp for the photo mats and only a few pieces of cardstock.

These are the supplies I started with to create the cards: 9 card bases, 9 inside whisper white card liners, 9-5×4 inch solid color cardstock that has been embossed, 2-4×4 inch solid color cardstock, 9 punched pieces large enough for your sentiment, 9 pieces of about 3.75 inch ribbon, 1-12×12 inch boldly printed designer series paper, self adhesive embellishments, stamp set with sentiments, ink pad and personal trimmer.

One of a Kind Virtual Facebook Event

The One of a Kind Stamp and Scrap Expo is an in person event held at the Madison, Wisconsin Alliant Energy Center in October. The show has been around for many years and showcases all that the stamping and scrapbooking world has to offer. I have been a vendor for the past few years and have been in and out of the show since it started.

The show organizers also have a store which has been closed due to Staying Safer at Home. So instead of foot traffic, they have created a virtual Facebook event that we can participate from the comfort of our stamp spaces. Grab your coffee, tea and biscuits, it runs from 10am-4:30pmish today!  Click this link to join the group.

I’ll be hosting a One Sheet Wonder Create Along at 3pm in this group. Grab these supplies if you want to join me:

9 card bases, 9 inside whisper white card liners, 9-5×4 inch solid color cardstock that has been embossed, 2-4×4 inch solid color cardstock, 9 punched pieces large enough for you sentiment, 9 pieces of about 3.75 inch ribbon, 1-12×12 inch boldly printed designer series paper, self adhesive embellishments, stamp set with sentiments, ink pad and personal trimmer.

The scrap map will be similar to the Bird Ballad map I used last Sunday during a Facebook Live Create Along on my business page. I’ll post what I create and also the revised scrap map after the session.

CASEing the Blog Hop Design 5

I helped coordinate a Sale-A-Bration 2018 Blog Hop that was posted last week. If you missed it, click here to hop along.

I got the idea to CASE the designs shared on the other blogs after seeing all the great ideas from my fellow demonstrators. Today, I am CASEing Susan Murphy. Click here to see Susan’s design.

Susan used the Sale-A-Bration stamp set Heartfelt Blooms which has built in depth. I scanned my stamp stash to find Birthday Blossoms has subtle but not as detailed built in depth. Since the crumb cake flowers are much smaller on my card, I added the larger pansy stamp with coordinating punch for a focal point.

I had also planned to have a horizontal card like Susan did. I attached all the layers and then found the sentiment that I had stamped. It did not fit horizontally so decided to change it to a vertical card. I also missed adding the linen thread that she used since I found that after all the layers were attached too. Linen thread is a favorite of mine so drat!

I substituted a piece of patterned paper from the Delightful Daisy package where Susan used night of navy cardstock. I did use her paper snips trick to make flags on the sentiment cardstock.

Leave a comment if you like my CASE. CASE means copy and share everything and typically means using someone else’s design to create something with your own twist. I am planning 10 more twists since we had 15 blog hop stops. So keep checking back for more CASEing!

You can order all of these products and check out the Sale-A-Bration brochure at my online store here. Before ordering, check out my Online Shopper Rewards on the right side of my blog. I appreciate and thank you for ordering with me!
