Beautiful Peacock

I shared this design in yesterday’s blog hop. Thanks for hopping back for the design details. I started with the Tutti Frutti cards and envelopes. Bonus is that they are already cut, scored and have tone on tone “v” design printing. 2 24 2018bloghop3-001

The first layer is a diagonal striped rich razzleberry print that is part of the Sweet Soiree Memories and More card pack. It was originally sized at 4×6 inches. A 1×4 inch piece was cut off so it would fit on the card front.

Next, our delicate white doilie was cut in half and adhered as shown.

Close up of the peacock stamped on a piece of 3 x 3 7/8 inch whisper white cardstock. One of the circle stamps was used to create a daffodil delight inked border along one side and then one opposite corner. The “beautiful friend” stamp was cut using the lemon builder punch layered with a 1 inch circle punched rich razzleberry cardstock piece.

2 24 2018 bloghop5-001

Sponge daubers were used to add daffodil light ink to the wing and head feathers. Crumb cake ink daubed underneath the peacock grounds the bird.

The lemon builder punch was used to create the sentiment.

Stamp the inside of the card with a sentiment from the Lovely Friends stamp set. Decorate the envelope back with daffodil delight inked peacock feathers.

Ink and Share Blog Hop

Welcome to our Sale-A-Bration blog hop featuring projects made with Stampin’ Up! products designed by fellow Stampin’ Up! Independent Demonstrators. If you are hopping around, you have arrived from Phoebe’s stop. My hop entry is below.

I used 3 different Sale-A-Bration products on my greeting card. The Tutti Frutti cards and envelopes allowed me to get to the fun faster since the card base was already cut and scored and had tone on tone printing. The rich razzleberry striped layer is an option in the Sweet Soiree Memories and More Card pack. Last, I used the Beautiful Peacock stamp set for the focal point.

2 24 2018bloghop3-001

The inside of the card is stamped as well using a sentiment from the Lovely Friends stamp set. Check back tomorrow for full design details and how to video creating the peacock focal point.

Here is a list of the participating demonstrators in case you want to skip back for a second look.

You might be a scrapbooking foodie if…

you color coordinate your kombucha to your scrapbook layout! Look at this gorgeous lemon lime twist colored NessAlla kombucha logo and the bermuda bay colored sticker towards the bottom…

2 2018odbloghop6-001

Both of these colors are featured in the Bubbles and Fizz designer series paper. So it was destiny that I scrapbook my kombucha journey. The NessAlla stickers are the perfect memorabilia since they are flat and won’t add much thickness to the page.

2 2018odbloghop3-001

I just need to add my favorite NessAlla flavors, my home brewing observations, the SCOBY drive thru story. You know, the journaling part that gets done later.2 2018odbloghop4-001

side by side, 12×12 inch layouts with the brew that inspired it!

2 2018odbloghop1-001

Can you see the different basic black mat widths around the edges? The one on the left has a 1/4 inch mat. The one on the right has a 1/2 inch mat. I’ll have to walk around the layout a few more days to decide which mat I like. Nothing is taped down yet so I can make some adjustments and add more journaling space if needed. It usually takes a few days for a layout to be finished for me. I’ll pull out all the supplies I want to use and make a rough design. After a few days of walking around the layout and making adjustments, I can declare it is done!

Supplies used:

12×12 basic black cardstock for the base layer (matches the popped bubbles on the dsp)

Bubbles and Fizz designer series paper which is earned free with a $50 Sale-A-Bration order

lemon lime twist, bermuda bay, calypso coral (on the assorted sized bubbles) cardstock

whisper white cardstock

Bottles and Bubbles framelits

Stitched Shapes framelits

All paper crafting supplies can be ordered at my online store here.

To find NessAlla kombucha near you, visit their website here for locations. They have tappers at Willy Street Co-op in the Madison area which makes it convenient to reuse their bottles.

Are you a scrapbooking foodie? Add a comment if you are and what your favorite foodie adventure is that you scrapbooked.

And yes, lemongrass ginger is my favorite flavor followed by hibiscus cardamom ginger when I am feeling I need a little red spice in my life.

Until next time,

Snowflakes inside but not out, CASEing the Blog Hop Design 7

As I write this post, we have yet to get snow that requires the snow blower to be fired up. I have been surprised when Jim has shoveled the few times we have gotten flakes because they could have just all blown or melted away. We still have many months of winter so I expect the flake count to start adding up. Until then, I will continue to create with my snowflake stamps in my cozy stampin room.

My snowflake design below was CASED from fellow Canadian demonstrator Elizabeth Green and her Sale-A-Bration Blog Hop entry. I mostly followed her card #2 design that you can see by clicking here. I helped coordinate this hop that has 15 stops. If you missed it, click here to hop along.

Our silver foil sheets emboss beautifully using embossing folders. I used our new Simple Strips embossing folder to draw the eye to the center of the card. The “amazing” was also cut on the silver foil sheet using the Sale-A-Bration Celebrate You thinlits that you can earn for free with qualifying order. I used our fine tip glue pen to adhere “amazing” to the card.

The clear faceted gem adds a nice detail…

Inside the card is decorated too. The exclamation point requires no additional paper or cutting. The “o” is punched from the “o” in the silver “you”. The top part is punched from the “g” in “amazing” from the card front.

Supplies used are below plus the Big Shot machine with magnetic and multi purpose platforms. The 3 layering circles framelits are from the Layering Circles framelit collection. 16 circles in that collection so it is a great buy!

*Update* It snowed over night. Looks like I’ll be getting out the shovel. Still snowing though so I may wait for a bit. It appears to be light and fluffy. Let’s hope it is to make it an easier job. My front step snowpeeps will be appearing while I am outside as is tradition with the first snowfall!

CASEing the Blog Hop Design 4

I helped coordinate a Sale-A-Bration 2018 Blog Hop that was posted last week. If you missed it, click here to hop along.

I got the idea to CASE the designs shared on the other blogs after seeing all the great ideas from my fellow demonstrators. Today, I am CASEing Darla Roberts. Click here to see her original design.

I have the glimmer enamel dots on hand so I started with those for my color combination. Next, I looked at my stamps to find a set that would work with the circles on Darla’s design. I decided on Painted Harvest since it is a carry over set from the holiday catalog and I did not get to play with this one enough this fall.

1 10 2018 case1-001

I accented the glitter enamel shapes by adding them dark to light colored following the curve of the circle. This draws the eye to that fabulous rich razzleberry flower focal point. The old olive ferns add interest in their own circles.

1 10 2018 case2-001

The circle framelits are all from the Layering Circles collection. There are 16 nesting sizes (if I can count right and have not lost anyway in the design process:) These are a great option to add to your paper crafting stash since they take up very little space.

1 10 2018 case3-001

The 1 inch circle punch was used for the ferns so that a little more of the rich razzleberry scallop circle would be visible. Darla stamped “sand” on her card so I added “freckles” to my card using the small dot stamp with light pressure and stamping off on the crumb cake layer to add dimension.

Leave a comment if you like my CASE. CASE means copy and share everything and typically means using someone else’s design to create something with your own twist. I am planning 11 more twists since we had 15 blog hop stops. So keep checking back for more CASEing!

You can order all of these products and check out the Sale-A-Bration brochure at my online store here. Before ordering, check out my Online Shopper Rewards on the right side of my blog. I appreciate and thank you for ordering with me!
