Fun Fridays – The Dill, The Dog and The Toads

As I was weeding eliminating the toad habitat aka the dill patch, I thought this might make a fun, Fun Fridays post. Of course this thought came to me towards the end of the eradication and the toads were nowhere to be found for a photo op.

The toads keep me company now that Spencer is gone. He use to circle the plots since they are fenced to keep small critters including himself out. Never to early to check for his favorite – green beans! We can safely say that dill was not his favorite. In fact, if he was being sassy, we would show him a sprig of dill and he would calm down quickly and retreat to his nap mat for some regrouping.

I saved a large jar of dill and used about 2 teaspoons in a pull apart recipe. Never fear, more fresh dill will grow along the edges of the garden. Just enough shade for the toads under the wood board shelter that keeps them cool and the garden dirt contained.

So this is how paper crafts are weaved into the Dill Edition. Buns nicely packaged to take a few to my sister:

I should have edited my watermark to say “baked by.” HaHa!

I bake my own buns and created a quick digital layout to share the process. My Pampered Chef stoneware is a trusty friend on baking day:

And the paper crafts:

The stamp sets Wild About Flowers and Gifts from the Garden, the garden green ink pad, 1 1/2 inch circle punch and paper snips are still current. Cello bags have changed size in the new catalog but we still have them! I used a few recently retired products (washi tape punch, Cherry on Top DSP and clothespin) while I await my first order from the new catalog. I’ll share the unboxing when I get it!

Hope you enjoyed the Dill, the Dog and the Toads! Have a nice weekend!

Fun Fridays – The Story of the Hot Pink Boots!

IMG_5439

Well these are not my color since I don’t do pink! Justice for a Cure and Breast Cancer Recovery hosted an alumni retreat a few months ago which I attended. The pink boots were there too.

Challenge by Choice is always a component at retreat and this time, it was line dancing! The Dairyland Dancers entertained us and then invited us to learn a routine. One of the dancers wore these boots and then donated them to BCR.  They were spontaneously auctioned and Jane had the winning bid! She donated them back to BCR and they made it to the auction table at Party with a View this week which was held at Blackhawk Country Club.

I was tickled to see my auction donation right beside the boots. My good friend Karen won my Paper Pumpkin Night Out. Emily said she would join us. Yahooo!

Here is why it was called Party with a View. We had a great view overlooking the golf course and the lake. Our Tibetan Flags enjoyed a very nice sunset!

I am hosting a paper crafting fundraiser to benefit BCR on June 9th. Find the details here Cards for a Cause to benefit Breast Cancer Recovery Contact me if you want to join us!

Thanks for enjoying the hot pink boots with me today!

Fun Fridays – Crazy Cat Edition!

I have a new experience for today to report. A purple cat and friends in Spencer’s house!

5 20 2016 2-001

I am sure he is going to haunt us tonight! Spencer’s only experiences with cats resulted in cat’s fleeing for the nearest hiding spot. They did not understand he just wanted to play. And he could not figure out why they looked like a funny looking dog. Hmmm…not sure if I have those memories scrapbooked but they are certainly lively ones that I remember without layouts to review.

Here are some of the friends that will be residing with Jim and me that will remind us of Mary.

I like the flat cat…

Finding these photo holders were an Oh Snap! moment. Card samples and instructions can be above the stamping area now thanks to Mary.

5 20 2016 4-001

We would rather have Mary and Spencer still in our lives rather than trinkets and memories to remind us of their presence. Circle of Life Lessons are just the hardest ones to learn. Trinkets and memories and a purple cat will help us get through to easier days.

Thanks for stamping with me today!

Fun Fridays

It has been a tough few weeks so I have not been in my stampin’ studio for design sessions. As I was looking through my photos to see if I had missed sharing a design, I found this photo. It makes us hookers laugh! Rug hookers that is. Mom and I are moral support for this hobby as well. We are only on our 2nd project and have been hooking for several years. Another hobby to keep us out of the bars! Haha!

When I found this photo, I thought this would make an excellent Fun Fridays posts. Something to make us giggle, put a smile on our faces and send us off into the weekend with good vibes.

These are sheep cupcakes because we need wool to hook rug creations. What a fun  refreshment if we host a hook in at Mom’s house! You know I’ll design a paper crafting wooly party favor for the guests as well!

This also reminds me of Shaun the Sheep of Wallace and Gromit fame. I love those movies!

Thanks for giggling with me today!
