Christmas Card Blitz Day One

This is the week to make and send holiday cards. Since I have swaps from attending demonstrator events, I thought I would do a Christmas Card Blitz to inspire you to create your own cards. Please note that I will give credit to the person that created the card if I know who it is. If you see your card without credit, please add a comment that it is your card!

Candy Cane Season stamps were used to create a custom design on this gift bag.

Spooky Cat

My house is already decorated for Halloween and Mom is unpacking her decorations as I write. Mom loves Halloween and we (mom, my sister Wendy and I) have a hard time resisting all the Halloween offerings in the Stampin’ Up! holiday catalogs. So we don’t resist. Stamps can be used for decor too!

This year, SU has a Spooky Night Suite complete with a cat punch and coordinating cat patterned paper that can be perfectly punched! YvonCarol did a nice job designing this card. The stitched shapes framelits make a nice moon. The cat hat is cut from the same Spooky Night designer series paper package that the punched cat came from. She even added a collar to the cat. The lemon lime twist cardstock nicely compliments the daffodil delight moon.

Fun Fridays includes a Paper Pumpkin Night Out!

Lisa J. and I have a fun end to our Friday today. She is hosting a Paper Pumpkin Night Out! She won the party at the WAGS fundraiser where I donated a stack of hand stamped greeting cards and the PPNO. She said she split her raffle tickets between the prizes and won mine! WAGS stands for Wisconsin Academy of Graduate Service Dogs. Lisa has a WAGS dog named Haley that helps Lisa throughout her day. Find information about WAGS through this link.

We will be creating with the Sara Thing kit tonight. This kit was designed by our CEO and daughter of our co-founder in celebration of 4 years of Paper Pumpkin kits. The stamp set for this kit is written in Sara’s writing! A fun touch and a set I will treasure in my stash.

Here’s Sara…

Would you like to help Lisa out by placing an online order? Simply use host code WJT7PCJY at my online store by clicking this link.  A three month Paper Pumpkin subscription is only $59 plus tax and your snail mail box will be happy! Scroll to Paper Pumpkin at my online store for other subscription options and past kits that are for sale. After purchasing your subscription, follow the link in the confirmation email to get your account set up so Paper Pumpkin knows where to ship your boxes!

I’ll try to remember to take photos from the party tonight and share them here. Lisa and I discussed getting photos the last time we stamped together but we get busy stamping and then forget! I wonder if I arrive with a post it note on my forehead with “TAKE PHOTOS!!!” that we will remember to snap a few. Stay tuned to find out!

Have a Fun Friday!

Senior Stampers are Super Awesome!

I have visited the New Perspective in Senior Living community twice a month almost since they opened. When I initially toured the community, I thought I was just touring to see if I could hold stamping events there. Turned out, the activity director wanted me to lead greeting card making events for the residents!

I have since expanded sharing at many other senior living communities that will take a chance at trying this activity with their residents. The residents are happy to take away cards they can mail and frequently have stories to share about loved ones appreciating getting mail from them.

Most of today’s stampers agreed to being in photos and I remembered to take them! So here are the super awesome stampers from New Perspective!

Melody (on left) stamps on her own with Paper Pumpkin and was also featured in a Facebook Live video on my business page about a month ago as mother of the bride being the bridal shower hostess. Yvonne quietly works to make her cards look professional. I think she secretly has an art background and seems to enjoy creating the cards and using the supplies.

Marion (on the left) has a funny story to tell about all the cards she has given her husband Bob over the years. She has actually only given him a few instead re-using the same card each year.  In my mind, she adds another personal note each year to make the card special. I’ll have to ask her if that is what she did! She said the box of cards has been misplaced so is happy to get some new ones during our sessions.

Shirley is in the middle and does not see too well. Her friend Marge usually attends and they work together to assemble the cards. Marion and I helped her today so her flowers and balloons were going the right way!

Millie just starting attending and always is smiling through the session. I think she likes everything about creating cards, the colors, the textures and the supplies we use are fun!

Joann and Ruth usually arrive with people in mind to mail their cards to. I try to vary the sentiments and include lots of Happy Birthday designs. IMG_7189

I included a bonus gift box in today’s session. I repurposed the flowers from the decorations from Melody’s daughter’s bridal shower. The pearl on the vase flower decoration was too thick to mail with one stamp. Added a snippet of antique ribbon and they have a summery gift box in case they need it.

My Senior Living Stampers are Super Awesome! I enjoy my time with them! Thanks for stamping with me!
