Travel or Scrapbooking Blog Hop

bloghopbannerapril2018-001

I hope you are enjoying our Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators Blog Hop featuring projects that are travel or scrapbooking related. Fellow demonstrators from all over the globe are participating so we have a wide array of fun projects to share with you! You may have arrived from Melanie’s blog. She had a fabulous project!

I have lots of scrapbooking ideas floating around in my head with memorabilia and photos to make layouts complete. But with a busy last week which included a tragedy in my town blogged about here, I went with my second project idea; a pillow gift.

I have a weekend retreat in August I can use these for or roomie gifts for Onstage in Orlando in November. That follows our travel related theme since they will be traveling to a fun destination. My project is a wooden crate pillow gift with matching hand stamped tissue paper and a coordinating lemon stamped and punched gift note for a personal message.

Side view to show these really do look like old fashioned wooden crates!

Create 1 crate as shown from a 6×6 inch patterned paper from the Wood Textures dsp stack. The corner with the missing dsp will be ok since it will be covered by the full bottom piece from the opposite side. You will know what I mean when you start creating your crates:)

The Wood Textures Designer Series Paper is part of the buy 3, get 1 free sale going on through July 31st. Full details about the sale are in this blog post.

Here are all the supplies used plus the Big Shot. The sentiment stickers are from the Memories and More Delightfully Detailed card pack. I just happen to pick the sticker that color coordinated with the colors of the wood paper and treats:)

I was awaiting the July Paper Pumpkin kit so I could have snagged the blue tissue paper to line the crate with and also color coordinated the candy to the blue tissue paper. But the mailbox did not have my kit today. So I needed to use white tissue paper from my wrapping paper stash and decided to stamp lemons on it. Neat trick for when you really want your gift to be coordinated!

Please add a comment and let me know what you liked about my design.

Happy Birthday How To

Thanks for stopping back for the how to tips on creating the Happy Birthday Blog Hop entry I shared in yesterday’s post. The scrapbook layout is on the left and the greeting card is on the right in the photos below.

First, the balloon bouquet punch was used to create lots of balloons from Picture Perfect Party designer series paper. It is already sized at 6×6 inches so punching was quick. I just had to strategically place the punch to include colors and not white space in the balloons.

I then decided to use the full 6×6 inches of the dsp on the scrapbook layout so that all the fun patterns could be enjoyed. The dsp was attached to 12×12 inch crumb cake for stability.

Rich razzleberry 8.5×11 inch cardstock was cut into 4 equal pieces to 4.25×5.5 inches. Whisper white 8.5×11 inch cardstock was cut to about 6 equal pieces for the next layer.

Fresh fig finely woven ribbon was attached using tear n tape as shown below.

Rich razzleberry classic ink was used to keep it simple and accent the dsp.

The greeting card started with 8.5×5.5 inch rich razzleberry cardstock. The next layer is lemon lime twist cut to 5 3/8 x 4 1/8 inches. Bermuda bay is next at 5×4 inches. Whisper white is about 1/6 of an 8.5×11 sheet. I decided to use all of the stamps on the card that were used in the scrapbook layout.

Quick and colorful!

Happy Birthday from Super Awesome Stamper Shirley

You might be a scrapbooking foodie if…

you color coordinate your kombucha to your scrapbook layout! Look at this gorgeous lemon lime twist colored NessAlla kombucha logo and the bermuda bay colored sticker towards the bottom…

2 2018odbloghop6-001

Both of these colors are featured in the Bubbles and Fizz designer series paper. So it was destiny that I scrapbook my kombucha journey. The NessAlla stickers are the perfect memorabilia since they are flat and won’t add much thickness to the page.

I just need to add my favorite NessAlla flavors, my home brewing observations, the SCOBY drive thru story. You know, the journaling part that gets done later.2 2018odbloghop4-001

side by side, 12×12 inch layouts with the brew that inspired it!

Can you see the different basic black mat widths around the edges? The one on the left has a 1/4 inch mat. The one on the right has a 1/2 inch mat. I’ll have to walk around the layout a few more days to decide which mat I like. Nothing is taped down yet so I can make some adjustments and add more journaling space if needed. It usually takes a few days for a layout to be finished for me. I’ll pull out all the supplies I want to use and make a rough design. After a few days of walking around the layout and making adjustments, I can declare it is done!

Supplies used:

12×12 basic black cardstock for the base layer (matches the popped bubbles on the dsp)

Bubbles and Fizz designer series paper which is earned free with a $50 Sale-A-Bration order

lemon lime twist, bermuda bay, calypso coral (on the assorted sized bubbles) cardstock

whisper white cardstock

Bottles and Bubbles framelits

Stitched Shapes framelits

All paper crafting supplies can be ordered at my online store here.

To find NessAlla kombucha near you, visit their website here for locations. They have tappers at Willy Street Co-op in the Madison area which makes it convenient to reuse their bottles.

Are you a scrapbooking foodie? Add a comment if you are and what your favorite foodie adventure is that you scrapbooked.

And yes, lemongrass ginger is my favorite flavor followed by hibiscus cardamom ginger when I am feeling I need a little red spice in my life.

Until next time,
