Just Notecards CASEing the Blog Hop Design 8

I helped coordinate a Sale-A-Bration 2018 Blog Hop that has 15 stops. If you missed it, click here to hop along.

My design below was CASED from fellow demonstrator Sandra Roberts and her Sale-A-Bration Blog Hop entry. You can see her design by clicking here. I decided to use lots of color instead of paper layers on my notecards. This makes for quick thank you cards.

Happy Second Anniversary Tricia! Blog Hop CASE 6

Today is the 2 year celebration of my sister Tricia signing up to be a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator on my Super Awesome Stampers Team. Congratulations Tricia!

I created this greeting card to celebrate and share with her.

Tricia likes the warm greens so I picked old olive shades with soft suede carstock. The Sale-A-Bration product Sweet Soiree Memories and More pack has assorted designs already preprinted in old olive, rich razzleberry, peek-a-boo peach and other colors. Here is a sampling from the pack. Both sides are printed so if you don’t like the patterns or sentiments on one side, you can flip it over and use the other side.

The supplies I used included our Stampin’ Write markers to lightly color the flower swosh on the Happy stamp. The fat tip is for adding color and the fine tip is for writing. Both tips on the same marker makes our markers marvelous. I use the fine tip to color coordinate the personal message included on the inside of the card. I also used the new Simple Strips embossing folder which is not in the photo.

Did you notice the word anniversary was custom cut using the Lots of Labels framelit that was also used to cut the Happy layer? See how to custom cut the tag in the next photos.

CASEing the Blog Hop Design 3

I participated and helped coordinate a Sale-A-Bration 2018 Blog Hop that was posted last week. If you missed it, click here to hop along.

I got the idea to CASE the designs shared on the other blogs. I am CASEing Emilie Poncelet today. Click here to see her design. She used pacific point, emerald envy and crushed curry to accent her peacock. I was drawn to this color combination too.

I made some substitutions based on what I had on hand, swapping out the Sale-A-Bration Beautiful Peacock stamp set for Touches of Texture. I needed to add color to my focal point so used the emerald envy marker to highlight the stamens.

To draw the eye to the focal point, I added the gold mini tinsel trim wrapped around a 2 x 5.5 inch piece of Pick a Pattern designer series paper. To further accentuate the focal point, I inked the longest stamp from Touches of Texture with crushed curry ink and applied towards the bottom of the dsp.

Emilie had scattered the three ink colors towards the edges of her card with smaller, assorted sized, stamp images. Touches of texture does not have an assorted smaller size option so I stamped the smaller flower 4 times which draws the eye across the card and invites the reader to open the card.

The card needed a little more color so I reached for a sponge dauber to add crushed curry ink around the focal point and also the top and bottom of the card. Interestingly enough, when I consulted Emilie’s post after I was all done designing, I noticed she used a sponge dauber too but in a different way. She added ink directly to the plume stamp.

Hope you are enjoying my CASEing the Blog Hop! Check back tomorrow for another CASE. Thanks for stopping by!

CASEing the Blog Hop Design 2

I participated and helped coordinate a Sale-A-Bration 2018 Blog Hop that was posted last week. If you missed it, click here to hop along.

I got the idea to CASE the designs shared on the other blogs. I am CASEing Terri Stewart for day 2. Click here to see her designs. She used the Party Pandas stamp set for some fun cards.

I had a growing pile of cut ends from Bubbles and Fizz designer series paper(dsp) from creating a stack of cards yesterday. I remembered Terri Stewart used strips of dsp on her card so I knew I could CASE her card while reducing my scrape pile.

I decided the easiest way to align the 4 x 1 1/4 inch dsp strips was on a calypso coral cardstock mat that was cut to 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 inches. I next cut the largest square stitched shapes framelit from powder pink cardstock. I had bottles already cut using the coordinating framelits from yesterday’s cutting session so it was easy to add 3 bottles to the front of the card.

The pink love mini tinsel trim makes a secure bow and fun embellishment that can be extended to the other side of the card. I decided to pull the ends to match the feeling of the sentiment, like bubbling over.

The tinsel trim is too narrow for a full, glue dot. So I rolled it as shown below using my paper piercing tool. The tool makes easy pick up to transfer the glue dot under the curves of the trim to anchor it in just the right spots.

Close up of the final card. I also stamped bermuda bay bubbles and the sentiment from the Bubble Over stamp set. A vellum straw adds the last detail.

When I saw the Bubble Over bundle, I knew this would be the first set to add to my stash because I am a kombucha home brewer and drinker.

The NessAlla kombucha growler is from our local brewers who are 2 friends that are now girl bosses of their own company. They brew all year favorites and seasonals that taste so good and are good for you! Right now, my favorite flavor is lemongrass ginger. I seem to follow the seasons and this has a nice warm, brown tone. Check out their website here to find out if they distribute in your area.

I’ll have another Blog Hop CASE shortly so check back in a day or 2. Thanks for stopping by!
