Candles to Light the Way

Our Merry Music Specialty Designer Series Paper has a Christmas hymn theme. I thought it paired well with the candles from the November host exclusive stamp set. This stamp set also featured a reindeer in the sweater and the words “tis the season” which were featured on other cards in previous blog posts.

These were the last cards created for the season. I am just about ready to shelve the holiday paper crafting accessories. I can use the opposite sides of holiday imaged dsp left in my stash for January projects. The opposite sides are usually neutral patterns such as dots, stripes and splashes. Perfect to stamp images and words on for quick focal points.

It is appropriate that the last holiday cards I created featured candle images. Candles are used for celebration, warmth, reading by and also to light the way. Happy Holidays!

Last One from Fall Fling

I will Let it Snow on this card as long as it is not snowing outside! We have gotten wintery weather around Halloween in my part of the country in the past. Winter can hold off a little longer since I prefer 72 degree weather. And I have not taken down the vegetable garden or started yard clean up yet.

Kay Messling did a nice job designing this card using the Merry Music designer series paper package. The snow scene is from a stamp in the set Merry Little Labels. Kay looks for stamp sets that have coordinating punches for ease of use. This image coordinates with the Everyday Label punch and has 4 more images in the stamp set that coordinate with this punch as well. Thanks for sharing this card Kay!

Merry Music Vintage Scrapbook Layout

I love to scrapbook my own memories and also help others scrapbook too. When designing a layout, I look to the photos to pick up the tone of what the photo captured. Laughter needs bright colors and bold patterns to bring out the fun. Winter holidays need reds and greens and a little bit of tinsel trim (yes, we have that in the Holiday catalog, page 21!). Vintage black and white need doilies and darker scrolly and lace pattern paper.

I had the opportunity to coordinate an all demonstrator meeting that was held last Saturday so of course I included a scrapbook layout for a make-n-take. This was the design…

The patterned paper is from the Merry Music designer series paper pack that is available in the holiday catalog page 13. Sweet sugarplum cardstock lightens up the page along with doilie, bow and ribbons accents.

I filmed a Youtube video so you can easily recreate this layout. Or attend the next Scrapbook in a Day on October 14th or 17th to recreate it yourself. Details for Scrapbook in a Day will be announced this week so stay tuned. In the meantime, enjoy the video!
