Paper Crafting Blog Hop Guy Cards

bloghopbannerapril2018-001

I hope you are enjoying our Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators Blog Hop featuring Happy Father’s Day/thinking of you/guy designs. Fellow demonstrators from all over the globe are participating so we have a wide array of fun projects to share with you! You may have arrived from Sandy Ward’s blog. She had a fabulous project!

You will never guess what is on the opposite side of this designer series paper… it’s flowers! Look at the back side of your favorite floral pattern papers. Often, there will be a pattern that is suitable for all occasion designs. This particular pattern is part of the Garden Impressions paper pack.

Use the Oh My Stars embossing folder on the pattern paper for greater visual appeal. Add Twinkle sequin stars to the center of the night of navy stamped stars. Linen thread in the power of 3 is wrapped around a 1 inch banner created with the triple banner punch.

I usually line the inside of the card with whisper white but the bright color did not work the earthy color scheme. Instead, I used the leftover over 1×3 inch dsp piece to decorate the top along with the stamped stars along the side to bring a little of the outside to the inside. Use our paper snips to create a custom banner.

Ink, Stamp and Share Guy Cards

Welcome to our Ink and Share Blog Hop featuring projects designed by fellow Stampin’ Up! Independent Demonstrators and me. This month, we are featuring projects created with guys in mind. If you are hopping around, you have arrived from Tricia Butt’s blog and her fabulous project.

The Tranquil Textures designer series papers has a few options that look like water. I picked the pattern with a little purple so the fish could be accented with purple.

This card design was in the March Card Buffet line up. The supplies used to create the card were contained in a plastic tub lid and passed around the stamp table. Blender pens were used for coloring the fish. I wrap a piece of scrap paper around the cover at one end to indicate which pen should be used for which color. The pens won’t need to be “brushed out” of color until after the event. This might also save my ink pads from being accidentally dipped with the wrong color:)

Hold on to Hope How To

I shared this card in a Spring and Easter blog hop yesterday. Today, I am sharing assembly tips and supplies used.

3 2018inkbloghop5-001

Rich Razzleberry cardstock cut to 3 1/8 x 5 1/2 inches forms a mat for the 3 x 5 inch Painted with Love dsp. Gold foil sheets cut to 1 x 3 inches and 1 1/2 x 3 inches form mats under the sentiment and cross respectively. A whisper white 1 3/8 inch circle accents the center of the cross.

The butterfly on the banner did now show up well in the above photo. Here is a close up showing that our mini-dimensionals are the perfect size to flutter this butterfly on the banner.

3 2018inkbloghop4-001

Make one pass through the Big Shot as shown in the photo below. Nest 2 of the crosses towards the bottom of a 3 x 5 1/2 inch Painted with Love Specialty designer series paper. Both crosses will be cut. I opted to assemble them nested as well. The piece of Painted with Love dsp that has the crosses cut from it is used as a layer on the card.

After passing through the Big Shot…3 2018inkbloghop8-001

Use the regular sized dimensionals to secure the nested crosses. Use glue dots to secure the powder pink shimmer ribbon and linen thread.

3 2018inkbloghop3-001

The inside is stamped with the same flower image that was stamped three times on the outside of the card too. A piece of 3 x 5.5 inch whisper white provides space for a personal message.

Sometimes a sympathy card is needed

I am grateful to receive a sympathy card in a swap. This occasion is difficult to sit down and create when one is needed. I usually create several to have on hand so that I can just sign and send.

This card was created by Carolynn Lucas for our shoebox swap. It features the top selling and longest running stamp set Lovely as a Tree.

Here are the images for the stamps in the Lovely as a Tree stamp set. You can see why this set is still very popular!

You can add Lovely as a Tree to your stamp collection in either wood (item # 128655) or clear mount (item # 127793) block options by ordering through my online store. Click here to zoom to my online store.

Comment below with how long you have had Lovely as a Tree in your stash or if you are just acquiring this stamp set!

I borrow Lovely as a Tree from Mom’s collection. I can’t relay the copyright date on it since it is visiting my sister Tricia’s house right now. Mom said it was one of the first sets she bought and it still ranks high as a favorite set!
