The Return of the Youtube Videos

Good Morning!

I have been absent from sharing Youtube videos every since my phone stopped talking to my computer. Seems as though I needed to update my computer software which did not sound like fun. I also needed a faster internet connection than what we have at the house to do the update. So I was off to do the update at M and D’s house!

Before hitting the update button, I first needed to make sure all the slides that my Dad and I scanned a few summer’s ago were backed up somewhere else. It was a lot of slides, in the thousands so I did not want to do that job again! I digitally scrapbooked all except for Dad’s navy photos which are still on the to do list. I’ll start sharing those layouts at some point. Remind me to do that!

Anywho, back to my Youtube video triumphant return! Actually, the first video I filmed is too long to upload from my house. Seriously, we have that slow of a connection! But this video uploaded in under an hour! So I’ll share this one with you. It ties into my post from last week here about sharing at senior living communities.

Hope you enjoy watching and look forward to new videos on my channel. I have over 200 videos now so take a look around while you are there!

Where in the World is the SU Catalog?

Another installment, play along if you can by adding your guesses! I asked the counter lady if she wanted to be in the photo and she said no. So I just got a shot of the glorious cheese case. There is another case too that is filled with curds and more cheese!

The cheese loot I purchased will be made into lasagna and enchiladas. The Rembrandt gouda will be a delicious snack with dates, nuts and kombucha!

Add a comment with your guess about Where in the World is the Stampin’ Up! catalog? I’ll post photos of the cheese as we cook with it for cheesy inspiration.

Build It Framelits in Basic Gray

Last of day of sharing projects that I created as a display stamper for Stampin’ Up!’s Madison convention in November. We were asked to create 15 projects so I decided to split them up using three different accent colors. Today’s accent color is basic gray. I used an ancient technique we learned so long ago…creating our own designer series paper using inks and rubber stamps! The patterns on the very vanilla paper were all hand stamped by me using the Nailed It stamp set and delightful dijon and basic gray inks.

Both smiley face stamps are part of the Nailed It stamp set. There is a frowny face too 😦

Our kraft tag a bag gift bags make quick gift card holders. Hmmm…I’ll try to get a video posted on that. The cello bag with the visa card inside is our medium clear envelopes. Neat alternate uses for both products!

We will be back to holiday cards in the next post! See you then!

Lima Lads and Lassies 4-H fundraiser

We had an intense last week of preparing for the Lima Lads and Lassies 4-H fundraiser. My sister Wendy is the leader and her daughter (my niece) Stephanie is a member of this group.

Cookie baking and packaging were the top priority! A baker’s dozen of families contributed cookies so we had about 150 dozen cookies to package. All trays were assorted except for the rosettes which were packaged in tins due to their delicate nature. Special orders were filled too for those that wanted to pick their varieties. Cookie sales benefit the entire group.

Two members of the group are going on 4-H trips so Stephanie and Lauren had crafts for sale as well to raise funds for their trips. I filmed a few Facebook live videos which are posted to my business facebook page so watch those to get the scoop. Search for Super Awesome Stamper Shirley Merker to find my business facebook page.

Sales were steady for cookies and many crafts found new homes too at the Ho Ho Ho Durand Expo was yesterday. We were thwarted by snowy and slick conditions so not as many shoppers ventured out. Both girls still have crafts for sale so contact me if you are interested in anything you see on the videos. Cookies in mugs are still available too or by the ice cream pail full.

Our booth – The candy cane, purple and gold ball and blue ball and garland trees are for sale too. $25 each tree or decorated window frame. Mix and match pricing, 2 for $45.

Stampin’ Up! made the price tags possible. I share in the cookie packaging video the stamping station. Glorious green which is retired color is the perfect match to stamp the 4-H shamrock on the price tags. Stephanie had an impressive stack of tags stamped and ready!

Thanks to all that baked, packaged, transported, set up and tore down the booth and made purchases during the sale! We appreciate all the efforts to make the fundraiser a success which helps the 4-H members uphold their 4-H pledge.

Welcome!

Welcome to my Super Awesome Stamper Blog! This is a place I will be sharing life with paper crafts.  Each paper craft creation has a story to tell that starts with carefully selecting richly colored papers, fabulous ribbons and awesome embellishments to match the people sharing the creation with.

I have been wanting to start a blog for some time. Life has a way of using time for it’s own purpose. So I have been gathering the energy to start this part of my journey for awhile. As I send Spencer, my beagle angel, to rainbow bridge, I will share this photo instead of a paper crafting one as a reminder that the sun sets, but it also rises when we are ready to see it.

I hope you enjoy what I will be sharing with you. Let me know if you do!
