There will be other fabulous, one of a kind designs as well in summery colors. Blackberry Bliss will be in the line up too:)

Sessions are Sunday, July 22nd, 1-3pm or Monday, July 23rd, 9-11am in air conditioned coolness (if needed) at my house. I set up tables in my front room so you only have to navigate 2 steps into my house.

Create 10 cards with envelopes for $20. I can provide adhesives for $3 extra or bring your own. I’ll have new packages of glue dots, dimensionals, liquid glue, tear n tape and SNAIL for cash and carry sale as well. Orders can be placed for these items too.

Please RSVP if you can make either session by 8am on Thursday, July 19th by clicking Contact above. If you see this post after the deadline but still want to attend, please contact me because I may be able to save a spot for you.

You are welcome to bring friends! A new friend that has not stamped with me before earns you both an extra card kit. If you are a member of my Super Awesome Stampers team, you get an extra kit too.

I reserve the right to cancel the session if less than 3 stampers RSVP. So please invite your friends!

Hope to stamp with you then!

Black Ice – Hottest Paper Crafting Technique

Black ice is the hottest paper crafting technique, literally because a heat gun is used to melt embossing powder for a raised effect. It’s also a popular technique so it is hot in that sense too. Here is my version using the copper foil paper since I did not see any samples using the copper foil.

This photo shows a side by side of the copper foil that has had the black ice technique applied on the left side. It is shimmery and looks like a layer of lake ice has been applied. The right side is as the copper foil appears directly out of a new package. It is smooth and shiny.

The embossing powder is very fine so a containment system is needed. I use some scrap copy paper as shown in the video below. To protect my work surface, I use a desk blotter and recycle the top sheet after using embossing powder because the fine particles tend to scatter. Even with the huge desk blotter, I managed to dump some on my table:( I picked up what I could to put back in the container. The embossing powder has very small particles so a little goes a long way.

Coffee Break Suite

I like coffee flavored foods but don’t drink coffee. It’s either water or kombucha for me and occasionally hot tea. I collect all of Stampin’ Up! coffee and tea stamps so the Coffee Cafe stamp set quickly made it’s trip from Utah to my stamp shelf.

I had a design session for a blog hop that will be posted tomorrow so decided to post the samples that did not make the cut for the hop the day before and after the hop. You will enjoy three designs over three days using Coffee Break for my efforts. The party favor posted tomorrow will also be the favor at this week’s Card Buffet. I hope you reserved a seat!

Today’s greeting card design had me fussy cutting coffee mugs and pots from the Coffee Break designer series paper. It was quick work with my super sharp Stampin’ Up! paper snips. I wanted to add depth that the fussy cutting would allow instead of using a straight edged cut piece.

Vellum creates the cup bubble topper which was cut using the Big Shot and the Coffee Cups framelits. I loaded the Big Shot platform to cut 5 pieces at once, the cup bubble topper, the straw, the cup that holds the sentiment, the trio of beans on the inside of the card and also the wee heart stirrer attached to the bottom left cup.

All of the straight edge papers are cut to an easy 4 inches making this a no scrap dsp generated design.

Check back tomorrow to hop along the Coffee Break Blog Hop and see the party favor I designed!

The Coffee Break designer series paper is being retired so order it quick here at my online store!

Here are home office concept artist designs using this suite. Now do you want to order it all? haha!
