Paper Crafting Blog Hop with Falling for Leaves

bloghopbannerapril2018-001

I hope you are enjoying our Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators Blog Hop featuring fall themed projects. Fellow demonstrators from all over the globe are participating so we have a wide array of fun projects to share with you! You may have arrived from Sue Boerner’s blog. She had a fabulous project!

I decided to reach into the piece stash to create a quick greeting card. The Detailed Leaves die cut and the negative around it are from the stash. When I first cut a leaf a few weeks ago from this piece of Nature’s Poem patterned paper, I discarded it because the colors were too bright. But upon looking at the colors today, these colors match the leaves that are outside of house right now. So the color combo was appealing for the design session today.

I highlighted the striped brown tones by backing the focal point on early espresso cardstock and stamping with early espresso ink.

I next highlighted the orange tones by grabbing the negative of a leaf die cut from a different patterned paper. This was backed with grapefruit grove cardstock and accented with grapefruit grove ribbon.

Grapefruit Grove Tiny Treat Box

Yesterday I participated in a New In Colors blog hop. I created this tiny treat box during the design session for the blog hop. Then decided it was too many photos to share on the hop. So today I am sharing the how to photos for the tiny treat box.

The top of the box has a grapefruit grove butterfly cut using the Springtime Impressions thinlet. The butterfly needed a resting place. So a 1 1/2 inch circle punched whisper white circle was attached to the box using a dimensional. Our new Faceted Dots in 3 sizes create a 3-D body.

The polka dot tulle ribbon was attached with tear n tape to the grapefruit grove belly band.

Create a 1 x 8 1/2 inch belly band by scoring it for easy wrap around.

Use tear n tape to adhere the belly band to the box.

Stampin’ Up!’s new annual catalog is live! It is 241 pages of inspiration goodness. Cynthia McQueen did a great job with creating a fabulous project featuring the new 2018-2020 In Colors as revealed below.

I opted to use Grapefruit Grove cardstock and whisper white for a summery look on this hand stamped greeting card. The new polka dot tulle ribbon has slightly raised, fuzzy whisper white dots which add to the summery look.

I used the Big Shot brush to remove the pieces from the intricate Springtime Impressions thinlet.

See the inside of the single flower? The smallest size of our new Faceted Dots fits perfectly in the center of the single flower.
