Scrap From My Heart Benefit

I attended a crop last weekend which was a benefit in memorial to raise funds for the McFarland Lutheran Church youth camp. The gym has excellent lighting, nice tables and kitchen access. Good conversation, time to work on our projects and enjoying good food were the event activities.

27972249_10211135912898038_3056106355020229618_n28166782_10211135901897763_3366699498270107199_n

I provided a scrapbooking make-take using the Bubble Up suite. Here are Susan, Ranee and Brenda (peeking over the top) with their pages. The fun thing about double sided paper is that you can pick which side to display. Everyone did their layouts a little different.

Ready for the scrapbookers…

I have extra of both styles so let me know if you want a set for outright purchase or gifts with purchase works too.

I’ll be back next year. Would you like to join us? The tentative date is February 15 and 16, 2019. Scrap with you then!

You might be a scrapbooking foodie if…

you color coordinate your kombucha to your scrapbook layout! Look at this gorgeous lemon lime twist colored NessAlla kombucha logo and the bermuda bay colored sticker towards the bottom…

2 2018odbloghop6-001

Both of these colors are featured in the Bubbles and Fizz designer series paper. So it was destiny that I scrapbook my kombucha journey. The NessAlla stickers are the perfect memorabilia since they are flat and won’t add much thickness to the page.

I just need to add my favorite NessAlla flavors, my home brewing observations, the SCOBY drive thru story. You know, the journaling part that gets done later.2 2018odbloghop4-001

side by side, 12×12 inch layouts with the brew that inspired it!

2 2018odbloghop1-001

Can you see the different basic black mat widths around the edges? The one on the left has a 1/4 inch mat. The one on the right has a 1/2 inch mat. I’ll have to walk around the layout a few more days to decide which mat I like. Nothing is taped down yet so I can make some adjustments and add more journaling space if needed. It usually takes a few days for a layout to be finished for me. I’ll pull out all the supplies I want to use and make a rough design. After a few days of walking around the layout and making adjustments, I can declare it is done!

Supplies used:

12×12 basic black cardstock for the base layer (matches the popped bubbles on the dsp)

Bubbles and Fizz designer series paper which is earned free with a $50 Sale-A-Bration order

lemon lime twist, bermuda bay, calypso coral (on the assorted sized bubbles) cardstock

whisper white cardstock

Bottles and Bubbles framelits

Stitched Shapes framelits

All paper crafting supplies can be ordered at my online store here.

To find NessAlla kombucha near you, visit their website here for locations. They have tappers at Willy Street Co-op in the Madison area which makes it convenient to reuse their bottles.

Are you a scrapbooking foodie? Add a comment if you are and what your favorite foodie adventure is that you scrapbooked.

And yes, lemongrass ginger is my favorite flavor followed by hibiscus cardamom ginger when I am feeling I need a little red spice in my life.

Until next time,

I Spy Amazing You Hop Design Details

Thanks for stopping back today after hopping along our Inspire, Create and Share Blog Hop. If you missed the blog hop, click here to zoom to the hop.

I am sharing design details and supplies used to create my blog hop greeting card entry below. This card would also be fabulous on a scrapbook layout.

The crumb cake balloons needed a little jazzing up so I looked through my stamp stash and found a star stamp in the Better Together stamp set that was the right size. Strips of bermuda bay cardstock from my snippets bin were attached using the liquid glue. The snippets were custom cut off from the balloon using my Stampin’ Up! paper snips.

The next picture shows the Sale-A-Bration Shimmer Ribbon in bermuda bay prior to fraying in the bottom right. Gently pull the silver thread until the volume of fluffiness is reached for the tassel.

Next, use glue dots to attach the balloon tassels to the back of the crumb cake balloons. Use a mini-dimensional to adhere the balloon to the island indigo larger balloon. Both balloon sizes were punched using the Balloon Bouquet punch.

All the supplies used to create the blog hop card are included in the photo below. The second to largest size from the Lots of Labels framelit was used to frame the Celebrate You. Sale-A-Bration 2018 products include the Celebrate You Thinlets, Shimmer Ribbon, Amazing You stamp set and Bubbles and Fizz designer series paper.

CASEing the Blog Hop Design 1

I participated and helped coordinate a Sale-A-Bration 2018 Blog Hop that was posted last week. If you missed it, click here to hop along.

I was originally going to design using the Bubbles and Fizz designer series paper since I am a kombucha brewer and like the fizzes in the brew. When I received my Sale-A-Bration products, I quickly decided to design using the Lots of Lavender stamp set because purple is my favorite color. Click on the link above to see what I created.

After seeing Ginger Rabesa’s blog hop entry, I knew I would be CASEing her design that you can see by clicking here. So this weekend I did just that.

Ginger mentioned that the bubbles on her design were cut using a piece from the Bottles and Bubbles framelit set. I was happy to learn she was right. When I initially saw her design, I thought that is a lot of punching to do. The framelit cuts 5 circles at time. Sweet!

Load up the platform when running it through the Big Shot. This will cut down on the number of cranks needed.

1 2 2018 bottlecase1-001

The paper discard pile grows as I work through cutting a stack. There is my boyfriend. His name is Carl. We go way back, about 14 years. I acquired Carl almost as soon as I signed up to be a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator. Carl and I spend a lot of time together as I cut paper to prep for events. He is the strong and silent type:)

1 2 2018 bottlecase2-001

I use tub lids to corral the cut pieces. I have a few more cranks through the Big Shot to cut the bubbles in all three colors. Assembly line is how I work when I need a quantity of cards.

1 7 2018bottlecase6-001

Another idea I got from Ginger’s blog is that she cut her mat to 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 inches. In all my years of stamping, I don’t think I have used this size so I thought I would try it using bermuda bay cardstock for my mat. The bottle dsp was cut to 4 x 5 1/4 inches so I could use the entire piece of 12×12 dsp because I cut the left over strips to decorate the inside of the card.

1 2 2018 bottlecase3-001

I do not have the layering oval framelits that she used so substituted the stitched shapes framelits. I also used lemon lime twist as the card base. As I was working with this color, I was getting flashbacks to the neon colors a stamping friend uses on her cards. I will have to let her know she can re-stock her colors because they are back on trend!

1 7 12018bottlecase4-001

The fine tip glue pen adds just the right shine on the bottle and bubbles. I added the glue after the card was completely assembled. It dried pretty quick because our house air is crackly dry in the winter.

1 7 12018bottlecase5-001

I almost forgot. Our new mini-dimensionals are just the right size to pop up the larger 2 bubble sizes. SU makes coordination easy which is one reason I love using our products.

I  hope to be CASEing the Blog Hop over the next couple of weeks so check back to see my reimaginations. Thanks for stopping by today!
