CASEing the Blog Hop Design 2

I participated and helped coordinate a Sale-A-Bration 2018 Blog Hop that was posted last week. If you missed it, click here to hop along.

I got the idea to CASE the designs shared on the other blogs. I am CASEing Terri Stewart for day 2. Click here to see her designs. She used the Party Pandas stamp set for some fun cards.

I had a growing pile of cut ends from Bubbles and Fizz designer series paper(dsp) from creating a stack of cards yesterday. I remembered Terri Stewart used strips of dsp on her card so I knew I could CASE her card while reducing my scrape pile.

I decided the easiest way to align the 4 x 1 1/4 inch dsp strips was on a calypso coral cardstock mat that was cut to 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 inches. I next cut the largest square stitched shapes framelit from powder pink cardstock. I had bottles already cut using the coordinating framelits from yesterday’s cutting session so it was easy to add 3 bottles to the front of the card.

The pink love mini tinsel trim makes a secure bow and fun embellishment that can be extended to the other side of the card. I decided to pull the ends to match the feeling of the sentiment, like bubbling over.

The tinsel trim is too narrow for a full, glue dot. So I rolled it as shown below using my paper piercing tool. The tool makes easy pick up to transfer the glue dot under the curves of the trim to anchor it in just the right spots.

Close up of the final card. I also stamped bermuda bay bubbles and the sentiment from the Bubble Over stamp set. A vellum straw adds the last detail.

When I saw the Bubble Over bundle, I knew this would be the first set to add to my stash because I am a kombucha home brewer and drinker.

The NessAlla kombucha growler is from our local brewers who are 2 friends that are now girl bosses of their own company. They brew all year favorites and seasonals that taste so good and are good for you! Right now, my favorite flavor is lemongrass ginger. I seem to follow the seasons and this has a nice warm, brown tone. Check out their website here to find out if they distribute in your area.

I’ll have another Blog Hop CASE shortly so check back in a day or 2. Thanks for stopping by!

901 greeting cards created in December!

I was asked at a holiday gathering this week how many greeting cards I prepared in December. I think the person asking did not expect the number I offered and could relay so quickly. I may have said 870 knowing that I prepared 750 card kits to share at senior living communities and just had snail mailed 115 card at the post office the day before.

So how did I get to 901?

750 card kits spread across 4 designs to share 3 designs per senior resident

16 samples for those designs which I manage to give away over the course of the sessions

121 greeting cards snail mailed or hand delivered over the last 4 days

5 thank you cards

and 9 sample cards for the January senior living sessions designed yesterday

equals 901!

The month is not over yet so there may be a few more I create!

That is a little over 22 packages of envelopes, 452 card bases cut and scored, 150 sheets of 8.5×11 whisper white cut to line the inside of the cards plus more for focal point stamping, about 50 sheets of designer series paper, 250 doilies and lots of ribbon tied to make bows. I am just thinking back on the supplies I used. I should have kept track! Lots of glue sticks were finished so I am down to my last few Stampin’ Up! glue sticks too.

Here is a photo of me recreated without the stack of card kits that I posted a few weeks ago here. I am holding what I hope to be my last holiday project. These cute socks came together quick with the help of the November Paper Pumpkin kit. All supplies are included in PP kits with easy to follow instructions. So that is why I left this as the last project to stamp:) We will use the socks to decorate the holiday table and deliver a little treat. I am wondering if I can find oranges small enough or will have to be satisfied with the orange tootsie rolls that I used in the neighbor gifts instead.

If you are interested in Paper Pumpkin (you won’t have the prep time I have to do before I create), go to my Paper Pumpkin website here. FAQ and account sign up are at my PP website. If you want to order subscriptions (please do, so that I enjoy a few more dollars in sales credit), go to my online store here. After purchasing a subscription, you will get an email on how to enter your promo code into your PP account. Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy! Then enjoy your first kit about January 15th!

See you in 2018 and Happy Holidays!

Yummy Nice Neighbor Gifts

A photo of dark chocolate squares popped in my Pinterest feed which gave me the idea to fill our mini pizza boxes with delights for the neighbors.

I also had orange flavored tootsie rolls on hand so decided to add those with a nod towards traditions of yesterday when fresh oranges were placed in Christmas socks.

Our coordinating products made assembling the boxes quick and easy. I assembled the boxes while the chocolate was cooling. Deliveries will be made shortly!12 19 2017 4-001

The chocolate recipe is 1/2 cup coconut oil, 1 cup natural cocoa powder, 4 tablespoons honey and 1/2 tsp vanilla from Health Nut Nation. She even has a how to video. Thanks Alison for providing a great resource.

Merry Christmas!

Merry in the Mailbox

I visited the post office right after 9am on Monday to send my cards on their journey to make merry at your house. As I approached the delivery area with the self service doors and slots, someone was trying to gauge whether she should drop in her priority boxes. One door was stuck shut and the other door was able to make clearance but was questionable.

She walked away and then came back pretty quick so I let her drop her boxes in. But Wait! She could only get one box to drop and then the door was stuck shut on that drop box too. I guess the person emptying the bins had not clocked in yet. She proceeded to drop the other boxes into the super huge door even though instructions were for dropping in only certain parcels. And my single cards were not on that list!

So I stuffed my cards in 4 at a time through the card slots and could see I was quickly filling that bin too. I am sure there were lots of other postal patrons there at the crack of lobby opening that dropped their greetings in too.

This was my transport tub. No time to find a festive Longaberger basket. I could have at least stuck some curling ribbon on the side:)

This was the last step of the assembly line this weekend, sealing the flaps while listening to my new #LorieLine King of Kings album. My favorite track is “Daughter of a King” which is a Lorie original that I enjoyed at her concert in Oconomoc a few weeks ago.

Where in the World is the SU catalog?

I was in my old town to share the last senior living session of the holiday season so thought I would stop by my old neighborhood. I use to live close enough that I could hear the calliope and the roar from the big top shows.

IMG_7774

I could also hear the train being loaded for the journey to Milwaukee where they would be in the parade and make stops in towns along the way. Exploring the museum to learn the history was fun too.

If you guessed “The Greatest Show on Earth” in Baraboo, Wisconsin, USA, you guessed right! Click on this link to go to their website to learn more about Circus World.

If you take a Where in the World is the SU catalog photo, send it to me so I can include it on my blog. It’s fun to see peeps out and about.

Where is my next destination? I would love it to be the Greek Isles! That is the trip I can earn from SU by being a Super Awesome Stamper, Seller and Team Leader. I am hoping that my 15th year with SU earns me my first trip because the Greek Isles sounds like a trip of a lifetime! If you would like to help me earn this trip, use the Contact button above so we can share ideas for making this happen!
