ISO Senior Living Sponsors

2 19bh2-001

Hello Super Awesome Stampers!

I visit senior living communities during the first and second weeks of the month. Residents gather in the activity room. I distribute greeting card making kits along with punched shapes and bows already attached to glue dots. We chat while assembling the cards. Sometimes we use the glitter glimmer sheets which is always a hit!

Sessions are more like art therapy. I talk about the fun color names and punches used.  The gorgeous ribbons provide visual and touch sensory experiences. I travel with assorted greetings and an ink pad so we can customize all occasion cards to the sentiment the resident wishes. The butterflies shown in the photo above will be featured in the May sessions. Bunnies are on the April designs.

I visit all care levels: independent, assisted and memory care communities. If I am able to speak to an activity director on the phone and secure a session commitment, I am usually booked for return sessions. Not everyone that is interested in a session is able to book one due to limited budget. Would you like to sponsor a session at a community in your area or where a family member or friend lives? Just let me know where you would like me to visit. I’ll call the activity director to offer a sponsored session. Sponsorship is easy with one simple cash or check donation from you.

I visit communities in the Durand, Eau Claire and Menomonie areas during the first week of the month. I’ll be criss crossing the Madison area and surrounding burbs during the second week of the month. I travel within an hour’s time from these areas and also visit communities along the interstate heading north of Madison on my trip up to Durand.

The residents really appreciate me visiting and I enjoy visiting the residents. The senior living sessions have been a part of my business for over 5 years. So I am experienced with leading the sessions and working with resident abilities or limitations.

Thank you for considering to sponsor a session. Please contact me if you or your company would like to sponsor a session. Have a super awesome day!

Weekend Crafting Retreat, Are You In?

We are officially 5 sleeps away from 3 days and 2 nights of full time crafting! That’s right, spread your craft out on your own table for the entire weekend. Enjoy the scenic pond view out the craft room window. Help prepare one meal during the weekend.

Sounds like a fun and productive time? Then join us! We have 3 spots open for the retreat that starts on Friday, February 8th, 10am and ends on Sunday, February 10th, 3pm. The location is at Cattail Retreat in Poynette.

This is a photo of part of the retreat group from last October and part of the craft room space. The place sleeps 8 so there are 8 center tables with more workspace and tables along the sides of the room.

Please contact me for more information and to RSVP for this weekend’s retreat. If you can’t make this one, look for the August and and October dates to be posted soon.

Have a nice day that includes some crafty time!

Super Soul Sunday Short with Prince Ea

I am hibernating in the stamp room today with Youtube to keep me company. I just watched and listened to Oprah’s conversation with Tom Brady on her #SuperSoulSunday broadcast. The sports world is not part of my universe choosing instead to put my energy elsewhere. So I purposefully set my mind to receiving when I take in conversations with sports figures.

After the featured conversation, Super Soul Shorts are thought provoking works of art. I enjoy these segments with relish since they expand the mind with words, visuals and music. Take a look and ponder your light.

#supersoulsunday energy and light bulb moment

Thanks Oprah for providing a platform for Prince Ea to share spoken word.

Weekend Getaway at Cattail Retreat

We had a fabulous time during our weekend getaway at Cattail Retreat. We split the room with half working on paper crafts and half working on quilting and gifts. Creativity was flowing in all directions!

First up was piling kits for upcoming Christmas card making sessions. I took advantage of the free table space until other guests arrived. That’s about 100 kits pictured. I did another 100 after these were stuffed in their envelopes.

The design for these kits uses retired designer series paper and ribbon…gingerbread punch is in our annual catalog!

Since Halloween is next week, I designed a spooky pillow gift. Dawn sewed a fun pouch to share as a pillow gift too. Thanks Dawn!

After my kit piling was done, I worked on reducing my whisper white paper scrap pile by punching bows from the Candy Cane builder punch. I used all my scraps and created about 150 bows. I stamped the hohoho words using real red ink from the coordinating Candy Cane Season stamp set. They are attached to glue dots strips for easy assembly.

We had lots of great food including taco dip, chili, southwest black bean soup and chicken chili in tomato sauce. Treats were an apple pie from #NorskeNook, gluten free brownies from #chocolatecoveredkatie and mango turmeric #Nessallakombucha. All delicious!

I set aside my paper crafts to hook a few loops on my pear centerpiece. The photo on the left is progress from the August retreat, the first 2 pears hooked. The photo on the right is progress made this weekend. I completed 3 pears! #patience and #goals learned while rug hooking for sure! It takes me a couple of hours to hook 1 pear.

Group photo right before packing up with some of the quilts worked on while at retreat in the background. We missed a few people that departed early.

The original retreaters…Tiffany on left, me in the center and Jeanette on the right. They are scrapbooking super stars! They design layouts and print photos prior to the weekend. During retreat, they match photos with layouts. They stay on task and usually meet their goal and matching all the photos with layouts. Pretty impressive since they have littles and take advantage of life experiences so have lots of memories to keep!

I’m back at the One of a Kind Stamp and Scrap Expo!

Screen Shot 2018-10-10 at 8.32.22 AM

I am back as the Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator at the One of a Kind Rubber Stamp and Scrapbook Expo in Madison during the weekend of November 16-18, 2018. I have been participating in this show in various ways ever since it started. Way back when before I became a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator, my family would visit from out of town and we would attend the show together.

This year, I have a table on the show floor so visit me there! I also have 3 classes, the Daisy Jar on Friday, the Wood Crate Projects on Saturday and my staple, Card Buffet on Sunday. Please consider attending a class. As a bonus, you will get to rest your legs for an hour during class 🙂

In addition, I’ll be a demonstrator during the Saturday night Create n Keep. This event is 4 hours of stamping fun!

Here is a link to the expo’s website: click here to zoom to the OOAK website.

See you there!
