Weekend Getaways – a space to create

So when you don’t travel well on an airplane (that’s me, poor young guy next to me on the way to Utah for convention just felt bad for me, tummy just does not sit right on planes even when it is empty!), travel by car is best.

A short 30 minute drive takes me and my paper crafting supplies to Cattail Retreat in Poynette. A lucky seven other crafters join me for a Weekend Getaway! We each get our own table to spread out our supplies for the entire weekend. Cleaning off your work space before starting another project is optional since it is your table to use as you wish for the weekend!

I am taking advantage of my time without puppy care duties by hosting one weekend a month starting in July and ending in October at Cattail Retreat.

Hooray that June has arrived with warmer temperatures! Which means we can stay in the shade a little longer (aka our stampin spaces) and play with our new stamps! Good Thing because this month you can earn extra Stampin’ Rewards!

Fun Fridays – The Story of the Hot Pink Boots!

Well these are not my color since I don’t do pink! Justice for a Cure and Breast Cancer Recovery hosted an alumni retreat a few months ago which I attended. The pink boots were there too.

Challenge by Choice is always a component at retreat and this time, it was line dancing! The Dairyland Dancers entertained us and then invited us to learn a routine. One of the dancers wore these boots and then donated them to BCR. They were spontaneously auctioned and Jane had the winning bid! She donated them back to BCR and they made it to the auction table at Party with a View this week which was held at Blackhawk Country Club.

I was tickled to see my auction donation right beside the boots. My good friend Karen won my Paper Pumpkin Night Out. Emily said she would join us. Yahooo!

Here is why it was called Party with a View. We had a great view overlooking the golf course and the lake. Our Tibetan Flags enjoyed a very nice sunset!

Dawn had been considering being a demonstrator and joining my team for awhile. She needed to open space in her life for her new venture. Literally! She moved into a house and now has a fully outfitted room for paper crafting events!

Stampin’ Up! just announced that new demonstrators that sign up June 1-30th will receive 2 additional stamp sets in their starter kit! These are stamp sets you get to select so they can be brand new models!

Many Manly Occasions

Designs with flowers, buttons and bows are easy for me. Cards with geometric shapes and patterns that would appeal to those not interested in flowers takes a little more design time.
