Where in the World is the Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalog?

I have visited this place before on my way to Wausau on Hwy 29. This time, I asked a cafe diner if she would hold the catalog in front of those glorious cheese wheels.

The cows are on site a few steps away from the cheese store and cafe. I think there is a walking tour that I will have to check out next time. They have a fun car to drive too!

This is the reason I stopped, mustard melange with a glass of kombucha, nuts and fresh cukes from the garden make a perfect snack or complete meal.

This the same view I snapped on my last visit shared is this blog post.IMG_7453

Need a Holiday catalog? It will be available online on September 1st but I have copies! Just ask and I’ll get one to you.

Thanks for stopping in today!

Spry Whimsy Fiber Arts outing

Wool in the summer? Yes, please if you are hooker! I have been steadily working on my snow peeps rug since I last blogged about it here. Each loop is hand pulled by me so when I have a chunk of time and my stamping to do list is manageable, I get to hookin’! Here is my progress since the last post:

and a close up of all those loops…one peeps had to have a purple hat of course!

But I set aside the snowpeeps and ventured to Spry Whimsy Fiber Arts in Stoughton to find binding yarn for the Halloween rug here…

My plan is to whip stitch the burlap edge to finish the rug. I hope to make progress this weekend while Mom can help me get started. I am determined to finish for the Halloween season this year, which I do believe may mark 5 years since I started this rug!

Ingrid from Spry Whimsy was gracious enough to show me around her shop and share what she and her husband, Peter, create there. Ingrid is a spinner transforming wool into yarns and teaching others how to spin. Peter is a felter creating usable and wearable art and shares in classes as well.

A few photos that I took…that’s Ingrid next to her Super Woman of Wool tshirt…

They host a fiber lovers circle on Wednesday evenings that she said I am welcome to join even though I would be the first hooker. Sounds like fun amongst other fiber lovers, let’s go! I look forward to learning more about the fibers at Spry Whimsy Fiber Arts and how I can incorporate them in my rugs.

Until the next hooking installment,

Where in the World is the SU catalog?

I have been busy hand delivering catalogs across Wisconsin. Sometimes, catalogs arrive at their final destination via courier service. This catalog was first delivered to my nephew who was suppose to deliver it to Darla but it did not make it into the delivery car.

So I picked it up at my sister’s house and with the quick thinking Minturns, we hatched the plan to deliver it to Darla’s husband’s work. When I arrived, I inadvertently asked if this was where Darla worked. I quickly corrected myself and asked for Mark instead. I then explained that I do Where in the World is the SU catalog blog posts, would they like to participate? I let them know that Mark participates too:)

They each picked a hand stamped greeting card in exchange for participating and being a courier service. Does anyone recognize these lovely ladies or know where Mark works? Add a comment with your guesses!

The final leg of the catalog courier service (that would be Mark) delivered the catalog to his lovely wife, Darla. She looks happy to have some new summer time material! She takes a great selfie too!

The Return of the Youtube Videos

Good Morning!

I have been absent from sharing Youtube videos every since my phone stopped talking to my computer. Seems as though I needed to update my computer software which did not sound like fun. I also needed a faster internet connection than what we have at the house to do the update. So I was off to do the update at M and D’s house!

Before hitting the update button, I first needed to make sure all the slides that my Dad and I scanned a few summer’s ago were backed up somewhere else. It was a lot of slides, in the thousands so I did not want to do that job again! I digitally scrapbooked all except for Dad’s navy photos which are still on the to do list. I’ll start sharing those layouts at some point. Remind me to do that!

Anywho, back to my Youtube video triumphant return! Actually, the first video I filmed is too long to upload from my house. Seriously, we have that slow of a connection! But this video uploaded in under an hour! So I’ll share this one with you. It ties into my post from last week here about sharing at senior living communities.

Hope you enjoy watching and look forward to new videos on my channel. I have over 200 videos now so take a look around while you are there!
