Tutti-Frutti Happy Birthday

IMG_7981

OMG, these little critters are so cute! And I don’t say cute very often. The card was created by Deb Geier for our all demonstrator meeting. She used our new Blends alcohol markers to give each critter and trio of white perfect accents some color. So cute!

The Tutti Frutti cards and envelopes are a free with $50 purchase Sale-A-Bration item. See the rest of the Sale-A-Bration options at my online store here. Orders can be placed there as well for all the products used on this project.

Have a nice day!

Anything But A Card Blog Hop

I hope you are enjoying our Anything But a Card Blog Hop. I’m hopping with fellow Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from all over the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia and Quebec, Canada.

Today’s hop features products from Sale-A-Bration 2018 that can be earned with qualifying purchases. I decided I wanted to document my kombucha journey. Notice the documenting is absent. I’ll add the journaling later along with my favorite flavors and my home brewing set up.

Nessalla is right on trend with my favorite flavor, lemongrass ginger. The bottle logo coordinates with our lemon lime twist In Color. When this color was introduced last summer, I knew I would be using it to make a scrapbook layout. The blog hop was a good reason to get the layout designed. The Nessalla bermuda bay sticker is also on trend and coordinates perfectly with the Bubbles and Fizz designer series paper. This DSP can be earned free with purchase during Sale-A-Bration.

CASEing the Blog Hop Design 2

I participated and helped coordinate a Sale-A-Bration 2018 Blog Hop that was posted last week. If you missed it, click here to hop along.

I got the idea to CASE the designs shared on the other blogs. I am CASEing Terri Stewart for day 2. Click here to see her designs. She used the Party Pandas stamp set for some fun cards.

I had a growing pile of cut ends from Bubbles and Fizz designer series paper(dsp) from creating a stack of cards yesterday. I remembered Terri Stewart used strips of dsp on her card so I knew I could CASE her card while reducing my scrape pile.

I decided the easiest way to align the 4 x 1 1/4 inch dsp strips was on a calypso coral cardstock mat that was cut to 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 inches. I next cut the largest square stitched shapes framelit from powder pink cardstock. I had bottles already cut using the coordinating framelits from yesterday’s cutting session so it was easy to add 3 bottles to the front of the card.

The pink love mini tinsel trim makes a secure bow and fun embellishment that can be extended to the other side of the card. I decided to pull the ends to match the feeling of the sentiment, like bubbling over.

The tinsel trim is too narrow for a full, glue dot. So I rolled it as shown below using my paper piercing tool. The tool makes easy pick up to transfer the glue dot under the curves of the trim to anchor it in just the right spots.

Close up of the final card. I also stamped bermuda bay bubbles and the sentiment from the Bubble Over stamp set. A vellum straw adds the last detail.

When I saw the Bubble Over bundle, I knew this would be the first set to add to my stash because I am a kombucha home brewer and drinker.

The NessAlla kombucha growler is from our local brewers who are 2 friends that are now girl bosses of their own company. They brew all year favorites and seasonals that taste so good and are good for you! Right now, my favorite flavor is lemongrass ginger. I seem to follow the seasons and this has a nice warm, brown tone. Check out their website here to find out if they distribute in your area.

I’ll have another Blog Hop CASE shortly so check back in a day or 2. Thanks for stopping by!

CASEing the Blog Hop Design 1

I participated and helped coordinate a Sale-A-Bration 2018 Blog Hop that was posted last week. If you missed it, click here to hop along.

I was originally going to design using the Bubbles and Fizz designer series paper since I am a kombucha brewer and like the fizzes in the brew. When I received my Sale-A-Bration products, I quickly decided to design using the Lots of Lavender stamp set because purple is my favorite color. Click on the link above to see what I created.

After seeing Ginger Rabesa’s blog hop entry, I knew I would be CASEing her design that you can see by clicking here. So this weekend I did just that.

Ginger mentioned that the bubbles on her design were cut using a piece from the Bottles and Bubbles framelit set. I was happy to learn she was right. When I initially saw her design, I thought that is a lot of punching to do. The framelit cuts 5 circles at time. Sweet!

Load up the platform when running it through the Big Shot. This will cut down on the number of cranks needed.

The paper discard pile grows as I work through cutting a stack. There is my boyfriend. His name is Carl. We go way back, about 14 years. I acquired Carl almost as soon as I signed up to be a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator. Carl and I spend a lot of time together as I cut paper to prep for events. He is the strong and silent type:)

1 2 2018 bottlecase2-001

I use tub lids to corral the cut pieces. I have a few more cranks through the Big Shot to cut the bubbles in all three colors. Assembly line is how I work when I need a quantity of cards.

Another idea I got from Ginger’s blog is that she cut her mat to 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 inches. In all my years of stamping, I don’t think I have used this size so I thought I would try it using bermuda bay cardstock for my mat. The bottle dsp was cut to 4 x 5 1/4 inches so I could use the entire piece of 12×12 dsp because I cut the left over strips to decorate the inside of the card.

1 2 2018 bottlecase3-001

I do not have the layering oval framelits that she used so substituted the stitched shapes framelits. I also used lemon lime twist as the card base. As I was working with this color, I was getting flashbacks to the neon colors a stamping friend uses on her cards. I will have to let her know she can re-stock her colors because they are back on trend!

1 7 12018bottlecase4-001

The fine tip glue pen adds just the right shine on the bottle and bubbles. I added the glue after the card was completely assembled. It dried pretty quick because our house air is crackly dry in the winter.

1 7 12018bottlecase5-001

I almost forgot. Our new mini-dimensionals are just the right size to pop up the larger 2 bubble sizes. SU makes coordination easy which is one reason I love using our products.

I  hope to be CASEing the Blog Hop over the next couple of weeks so check back to see my reimaginations. Thanks for stopping by today!
