Fun Fridays are Buzzing!

I am excited to announce that I enrolled in the Farley Center Beekeeper Incubator Program!

Did having a new line of bee paper crafting accessories sway my decision? I’ll admit a tiny bit of swaying was involved.

beekeepers1201-001I had been thinking about learning this craft for awhile. Hives use to be installed close to where my parents live for many years. We do not know who kept the hives but they have since disappeared. So it’s time to give the bees a new home in the area and offer the plants a boost from these little friends.

I always have a jar (and sometimes more that a jar, a honey stash is always approved;) of local honey on my shelf from my favorite apple orchard, Lapacek’s. It’s a nice drive in the country to the orchard. The reward is a variety of local yummies grown on their farm. They have goats and kitties to visit too.

I pick up jars of honey from local festivals too. My latest snatch is a jar from the last 2019 gathering at the Farley Center. It’s oh so good in winter hot teas and fruit smoothies! A tiny bit for quick energy is a good snack too.

Oh yes, I’ll be sharing bee themed paper crafts too. The Honey Bee stamp set and Detailed Bees dies are available for purchase through May. But the Golden Honey Specialty designer series paper is only available free with purchase through March. I have it all and a nice stash of the paper too. See a fancy folded card using these products in this blog post.

I’ll be blogging about my new beekeeping experiences so check back throughout the year for the latest adventure. Hope you enjoy my beekeeping adventure posts!

Card Buffet Kits in the Mail

blogcardbuffetbymail-001Staying Safer at Home means that in person Card Buffet events are on hold. Instead, I would like to offer Kits in the Mail to keep us all stamping.

Each package will contain 5 different designs. Substitutions of designer series papers, ribbons and embellishments may be made within a design. So you might not get exactly the same pieces in all the kits.

Each kit will have the papers cut according to the sample, embossed if needed, punch shapes included, die cuts ready for assembly and ribbons cut to length. A list of stamp sets used in the samples will be provided. Kits will not contain any stamped images.

I am working on designs and hope to have them posted by Tuesday, April 14th. The designs will be available for order through April 30th.

Cost is based on the number of cards in the kit:

10 cards with envelopes, 2 each of 5 designs is $20

20 cards with envelopes, 4 each of 5 designs is $35

40 cards with envelopes, 8 each of 5 designs is $60

Pricing above is for Porch Pick Ups from my house if you are local to me in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. Priority Rate USPS shipping is additional and based on the quantity ordered.

To place your order, click the Contact button above. Let me know how many cards in your order and the delivery option. Payment is via Paypal. Thank You!

Hope this new option keeps you stamping!

A Evening of Paper Crafting Fun!

Shoebox Swap-001Is your new stack of Stampin’ Up! products calling you to create something fabulous and fun. How about sharing one of your creations at a Hand Stamped Greeting Card Shoebox Swap?

You cut the supplies for your greeting card enough times for everyone else to make it. Pack those supplies along with stamps, inks and any hardware needed for card completion into a shoebox sized container. Everyone else does the same thing as well.

Then, during the Shoebox Swap, go around to the stations and create each others’ fabulous projects. Everyone brings their own adhesives. You go home with lots of designs and good ideas to use current products.

Sound like a fun evening? Then join us on Tuesday, February 25th, 6-8pm. I’ll be in the room by 4pm so you are welcome to bring your dinner and use the time from 4-6pm as you wish for other cropping projects.

Please RSVP by February 10th by clicking the contact button. I’ll send you a confirmation email with more details and location information. The event will be in Sun Prairie.

I’ll relay the final participant count on February 11th on the Facebook group.

There is also a Facebook group to coordinate the events. Please PM me in Facebook to be added to the group.

Please note that all supplies need to be 100% Stampin’ Up! products found in the 2019-2020 annual catalog or Spring 2020 catalog. No Exceptions! If you need to order products, my online store is open 24/7 by clicking the Shop Now button. Please do not use Sale-A-Bration items or retired Stampin’ Up! products.

This event is open to Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators and stampers that are serious about using Stampin’ Up! products because you need to use 100% current Stampin’ Up! products.

We can talk business while we work our way through making the projects. I’ll share a few items at the end of the event as well.

Please pack 2 sheets of stampin’ grid paper to protect your work area.

Card Design Rules:

use any colored cardstock for a card base, but please do not use whisper white

create a full card with a front and inside

use at least 2 layers of paper in addition to the card base

add a non paper embellishment or 2 or 3 (we love embellies!)

use ribbon

use dies, punches, embossing folders in any combination

envelopes do not need to be included but can be used to make kits for easier assembly

Use lots of products and colors to showcase what our catalogs offer and your design will be great!

There is no cost to this event other than your time in designing a fabulous card, preparing the supplies and the time at the event.

Have any questions about the event or the card design? Please ask by clicking Contact above. Thanks and looking forward to creating your shoebox design!

Ink and Share Scrapbook Blog Hop

Welcome to the Ink and Share Scrapbook Blog Hop. We are Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators showcasing our fabulous products on scrapbook pages. Anything in the current annual or holiday catalogs can be used to create our layouts. If you are on the hop trail, you may have arrived from Sue McDonald’s blog. She had a great layout!

I decided to create a vintage layout using cherry cobbler paper and ink. The copper foil accents and mats coordinate beautifully with the cherry cobbler color.

Supplies used plus the lace dynamic textured embossing folder. Also used a stamping sponge around the edges of the whisper white paper to create a vintage look.

If you want to see the matching greeting card in a different post, click here. I created the card first. Then got the idea to enlarge the design for a scrapbook layout.

Did you know that we sell 12×12 inch solid color scrapbooking papers? It’s sold in assorted color packages which makes it nicely packaged for your scrapbooking needs. A few sheets of each color are included in a package. Plus our designer series papers are (mostly) sold in the 12×12 inch size as well.

Thanks for stopping by. Let me know what you like about my layout by leaving a comment.

Now click on the next photo to see what Heike Hulle-Bolze has created.

A Twisted Design

When I want to create something a little different, I review Kelly Gettelfinger’s Youtube video sharing her original design for a twisted card. Then I get out my score board and start scoring!

Here is my updated version using Sale-A-Bration designer series paper.
