Fun Fridays – The Story of the Hot Pink Boots!

Well these are not my color since I don’t do pink! Justice for a Cure and Breast Cancer Recovery hosted an alumni retreat a few months ago which I attended. The pink boots were there too.

Challenge by Choice is always a component at retreat and this time, it was line dancing! The Dairyland Dancers entertained us and then invited us to learn a routine. One of the dancers wore these boots and then donated them to BCR.  They were spontaneously auctioned and Jane had the winning bid! She donated them back to BCR and they made it to the auction table at Party with a View this week which was held at Blackhawk Country Club.

I was tickled to see my auction donation right beside the boots. My good friend Karen won my Paper Pumpkin Night Out. Emily said she would join us. Yahooo!

Here is why it was called Party with a View. We had a great view overlooking the golf course and the lake. Our Tibetan Flags enjoyed a very nice sunset!

I am hosting a paper crafting fundraiser to benefit BCR on June 9th. Find the details here Cards for a Cause to benefit Breast Cancer Recovery Contact me if you want to join us!

Thanks for enjoying the hot pink boots with me today!

Stampin Friends

Look what was delivered to me today by my stampin friend, Kay!

5 26 2016 2-001

Not just an ordinary catalog, but a spiral bound one! As demonstrators, we are constantly flipping through our books so the spiral binding makes it easier to do this. She dropped the catalogs off at Staples and picked them up later. Thank you Kay for sharing a spiral bound copy with me!

Interested in receiving your own catalog copy? I have to see the whites of your eyeballs so contact me to set up a pick up or delivery time. If you don’t already have a demonstrator, I would be happy to be yours and provide you with a free catalog! Just ask!

Welcome New Team Member!

5 24 2016 1 welcome Dawn-001

Dawn had been considering being a demonstrator and joining my team for awhile. She needed to open space in her life for her new venture. Literally! She moved into a house and now has a fully outfitted room for paper crafting events!

Stampin’ Up! just announced that new demonstrators that sign up June 1-30th will receive 2 additional stamp sets in their starter kit! These are stamp sets you get to select so they can be brand new models!

Considering joining my team? As your team leader, I offer support through in person team meetings, a closed Facebook group, help with your first party and cards in your snail mail box! Electronic support is available as well, email, phone call and texting.

Buying for yourself and business builders are equally welcome in my group. If your focus changes, I change my support according to what you ask for. If you have questions about what I offer as your team leader, please ask!

Interested in what Stampin’ Up! offers to their demonstrators? Go here to my website. This is also where you would complete the application process to join my Super Awesome Stampers Team!

Rubber Rummage Sale!

It’s rummage sale season, rubber rummage sale that is! I am reducing a stash of mostly wood mount single stamps from lots of different companies including Stampin’ Up! There is a third table too.

My retired designer series paper stash is for sale as well. You might find a pattern you have used up and need for your next awesome project. Lots of punches too!

Purchasing is easy with this system. If the wood block fits the tracing, that is the price you pay. Bargain pricing to ensure stamps go to homes that will love and use them. If this is your home, contact me for sale address and appointment times. Thanks!

Many Manly Occasions

Designs with flowers, buttons and bows are easy for me. Cards with geometric shapes and patterns that would appeal to those not interested in flowers takes a little more design time.

Paper Pumpkin must have been thinking of me because the Many Manly Occasions May kit arrived with an easy DIY design. I brought the kit along in case we had time while visiting with family to create.

Sara, Jim’s niece, created this card for her Dad…That’s Jim on the right side of the photo.

Cathy, Sara’s Mom, created this card:

If you know Cathy, you might be receiving her birthday card!

Looks like something you might enjoy sharing with family and friends? Paper Pumpkin is available by purchasing prepaid subscriptions or as a pay as you go month to month option.

Fun Fridays – Crazy Cat Edition!

I have a new experience for today to report. A purple cat and friends in Spencer’s house!

5 20 2016 2-001

I am sure he is going to haunt us tonight! Spencer’s only experiences with cats resulted in cat’s fleeing for the nearest hiding spot. They did not understand he just wanted to play. And he could not figure out why they looked like a funny looking dog. Hmmm…not sure if I have those memories scrapbooked but they are certainly lively ones that I remember without layouts to review.

Here are some of the friends that will be residing with Jim and me that will remind us of Mary.

5 20 2016 1-001

I like the flat cat…

5 20 2016 3-001

Finding these photo holders were an Oh Snap! moment. Card samples and instructions can be above the stamping area now thanks to Mary.

5 20 2016 4-001

We would rather have Mary and Spencer still in our lives rather than trinkets and memories to remind us of their presence. Circle of Life Lessons are just the hardest ones to learn. Trinkets and memories and a purple cat will help us get through to easier days.

Mary’s Remembrance Card

We gathered to remember Mary, Jim’s sister who passed away recently. She was a paper crafter too. I had found a stash of Love Blossoms DSP a few weeks ago that I thought she would like but did not get a chance to share with her.

I was thinking that Mary would like it if I could incorporate paper crafts somehow in her gathering. Snickers were her favorite candy so I wanted to include a bar. I also wanted to include a comforting verse. Looking through my stamp stash, I found the retired Love and Sympathy stamp set had just the verse I was looking for.

I CASED my own CASE from Tuesday’s post to create this design.Shelli Garder #onstage2016 CASE

5 17 2016 1-001

I think her favorite part would be the kitty stamp.

I could not decide if I wanted to include the doggy stamp to add a little Spencer when I was assembling them. After a night’s rest, I awoke knowing I should stamp it. So I did. On the back. He would have liked that.

Shelli Garder #onstage2016 CASE

Stampin’ Up! throws a party for demonstrators a few times a year. Onstage events are open to any demonstrator. The April event was hosted in Salt Lake City, Utah, a short drive from the mother ship I call the home office.

For those that did not attend or want to relive the experience, two general session videos were posted on the demonstrator website. Shelli Gardner, our co-founder and board chair, shared a gift card holder similar to the one I created by CASEing her design.

CASEing stands for Copy And Share Everything. CASEing is a great way to create something quick. Substitute what you have on hand and voila! You have a unique creation!
